First Contact Polymer Formulations
Photonic Cleaning Technologies, LLC offers a wide variety of First Contact Polymer formulations. We have
provided a short description of each formula so you may better understand the use each formula so you can choose the best product to meet your requirements.
Red First Contact Polymer
Our Red Formula polymer is our “General Purpose” polymer used for most substrates and applications. Optical glass, Si, Ge, ZNSE, NaCl, KBr and many other substrates as well as nearly all coatings are compatible with the Red Formula.
Black Formula First Contact Polymer
Our Black Formula Polymer effectively hides backside reflections and also cleans the substrate to the molecular level. Transparent substrates introduce challenges in optical metrology, interferometry, and microscopy. Backside reflections reduce signal to noise, are recorded as artifacts, or introduce false signals. These reflections often need to be suppressed and semi-permanent paints and inks are often employed, however these materials require extensive cleaning after testing is completed. Black Formula First Contact Polymer can be easily peeled from the substate leaving a pristinely clean surface.
DTC Formula First Contact Polymer
DTC Polymer was developed in response to anomalously high adhesion and surface staining with some First Contact Polymer products on strained and reactive surfaces like fresh diamond tumed copper, brass, and Aluminum/Copper alloy diamond tumed mirrors. DTC Formula requires a longer drying time than other polymers.
FC WR Water Resistant First Contact Polymer
Employ our FC WR Water Resistant Polymer to protect precision surfaces during polymer and dicing operations. The polymer provides exceptional protection against water intrusion and also effectively removes dust, fingerprints, and residues. The polymer passed our testing for immersion for up to 24 hours at room temperatue and elevated temperatures up ta -25C in both static and agitated water baths, and also for 30 minutes in an ultrasonic bath.

This kit contains sufficient SPRAY polymer to clean approximately 160SqIn (1,000SqCm) square inches and NON-SPRAY polymer to clean ~60SqIn (380SqCm).
Deluxe Kit
Red Spray First Contact Deluxe Kit contains all Red First Contact & Spray formula polymer is a great choice to clean medium to large substrates
